Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Schegistrar CAC (Comprehensive Access Center) team member to schedule appointments and gather patient, guarantor, and insurance data. You will manage scheduling requests from patients and physician offices via phone, fax, or requisitions, and provide visit-specific information and cost estimates.

Role involves verifying insurance benefits, processing registrations, and triaging patient questions while adhering to regulatory policies and departmental standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare experience preferred (Patient Access/Registration).
• Proficiency with Epic and registration systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule services for departments within responsibility.
• Confirm orders/referrals linked to appointments.
• Use Epic Decision Tree for scheduling.
• Register patients with demographic, guarantor, and insurance info.
• Enter patient data into registration system accurately.
• Obtain signatures and manage forms for payers.
• Respond to appointment rescheduling or cancellations.
• Provide pricing estimates for out-of-pocket costs.
• Triages and processes appointment requests per dept. standards.
• Identify and prevent duplicate patient records and billing accounts.
• Communicate effectively with care teams and patients.
• Comply with HIPAA and regulatory policies.
