Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Scheduler to manage appointment-based access to care. You’ll act as a liaison among patients, facilities, and providers to ensure timely, accurate scheduling of exams, tests, and procedures.

You may pre-register patients in the EHR to obtain pre-certification and verify benefits. The role requires strong communication, multi-tasking, and attention to detail in a fast-paced medical setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a medical setting or call center environment
• Medical scheduling experience preferred
• Proficiency in English with strong customer service orientation and clear communication

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for services accurately on the appropriate schedule; coordinate physician/department availability and urgency
• Enter all patient demographics and insurance information into the EHR and ensure pre-certification and verification of benefits
• Communicate with departments and patients to resolve scheduling barriers and arrange interpreters or other assistance as needed
• Confirm appointments, provide directions, and relay pre-appointment preparations
