AdventHealth in Kissimmee, FL is seeking a PRN Patient Access Specialist to support patient registration, eligibility verification, and billing processes. You will coordinate with clinical and ancillary teams to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred or higher.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service and healthcare settings preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance benefits and billing helpful.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy rules advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues ABNs as needed.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or sets up plans.
• Coordinates with utilization management for pre-authorization and informs patients.
• Verifies eligibility and benefits with insurers and obtains pre-authorizations.
• Registers patients for services, ensures accuracy of records and minimizes duplication.
• Delivers excellent customer service and documents conversations with patients and payers.
