Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a patient access and financial services professional to perform Medicare compliance reviews, estimate patient financial responsibility, collect payments, and coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorization. You will register patients, verify insurance, and maintain accurate demographic data.

The role requires strong customer service, HIPAA awareness, and experience with EMR systems; bilingual English/Spanish is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include mature judgement with patients and staff
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR systems
• Exceptional customer service and bilingual communication (English/Spanish)
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, CMS guidelines and privacy practices
• Experience with insurance benefits and medical terminology
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and detail orientation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue patient financial estimates
• Collect payments and arrange payment plans
• Coordinate pre-authorization with utilization management
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations
• Register patients accurately and minimize duplicate records
• Gather demographic and insurance details from patients
• Provide coverage during shifts and arrange relief when needed
• Communicate with clinical and access departments to improve patient experience
• Document payer conversations and payment arrangements
• Support PBX operations and cashiering duties as needed
• Attend department meetings and contribute to team discussions
