Job summary

Shriners Children's seeks a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and caregivers during a life-changing event. You'll assist with scheduling, pre-registration, and registration, provide information on accessing external financial resources, and maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory agencies by obtaining consents.

This role requires empathy, clear communication, and attention to detail to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate record-keeping

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English required.
• 3+ years' experience in patient access, scheduling, registration or customer service in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls on the main operator line.
• Greet and direct patients and families for appointments.
• Accurately enter and update patient information in the computer system.
• Enter and update patient's insurance information.
• Check-in patients for scheduled appointments or admissions.
• Prepare and secure signatures on required treatment and billing authorization forms.
• Scan necessary documents into the EHR system.
• Verify insurance coverage for all patients receiving services.
