Job summary

Baptist Health in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to register patients accurately using multiple systems, maintain HIPAA privacy, and ensure compliant documentation during face-to-face and telephonic encounters.

The role requires flexibility for rotating schedules, on-call week rotations, and travel within a region of four Baptist facilities to support service excellence and accurate billing and collections.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients accurately and efficiently
• Utilization of multiple systems and interfaces
• Cross-Trained in order to work in multiple patient access areas
• Maintains service excellence to patients and visitors for face-to-face and telephonic encounters
• Contributes to PAS Goals as defined annually (Collections, Palm Scanning, etc.)
• Possesses a strong understanding of State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO
• Maintains a professional relationship with all clinical and non-clinical team members
• Able to articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms
• Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
• On Call Team during week-long rotations
