Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to register patients, verify information, and coordinate with multiple hospital systems in a fast-paced setting.

You will maintain patient privacy under HIPAA, ensure accurate completion of consent forms, and uphold service excellence for patients and visitors, both in person and by phone, while following EMTALA/AHCA/JCAHO guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience with patient registration processes.
• Knowledge of privacy and regulatory requirements (HIPAA).

Responsibilities

• Registers patients accurately and efficiently.
• Utilizes multiple hospital systems and interfaces.
• Cross-trained to work in multiple patient access areas.
• Maintains service excellence for patients and visitors in person and by phone.
• Contributes to department goals (e.g., collections, palm scanning).
• Complies with EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO regulations.
• Maintains professional relationships with clinical and non-clinical team members.
• Articulates and ensures completion of required patient consent forms.
• Maintains patient privacy per HIPAA guidelines.
