Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Patient Access teammate for the Oakleaf - Main Building Freestanding ED location. The role focuses on accurate patient registration, timely interfacing with various health-system platforms, and ensuring courteous, compliant service to patients and visitors.

Team members rotate through multiple patient access areas, maintaining privacy and privacy standards while contributing to departmental goals and smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Experience in front-desk or patient access is preferred.
• Proficiency with patient registration systems and interfaces.
• Understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements (HIPAA).

Responsibilities

• Registers patients accurately and efficiently.
• Utilizes multiple systems and interfaces.
• Cross-trains to work in multiple patient access areas.
• Maintains service excellence for patients and visitors face-to-face and by phone.
• Contributes to PAS goals (collections, etc.).
• Maintains privacy and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

• Registers patients accurately and efficiently

• Maintains service excellence to patients and visitors for face-to-face and telephonic encounters
• Contributes to PAS Goals as defined annually (Collections, Palm Scanning, etc.)
• Possesses a strong understanding of State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO
• Maintains a professional relationship with all clinical and non-clinical team members
• Able to articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms
• Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
