Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Patient Access Representative II to join the Patient Access team. This PRN role supports multiple patient access areas, ensuring accurate registration and courteous service for patients and visitors.

You will work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, handle HIPAA privacy, EMTALA regulations, and interface with multiple systems to support collections and patient consent processes.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years customer service experience
• 1-2 years healthcare experience preferred
• 1-2 years insurance experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Registers patients accurately and efficiently
• Utilization of multiple systems and interfaces
• Cross-Trained in order to work in multiple patient access areas
• Maintains service excellence to patients and visitors for face-to-face and telephonic encounters
• Contributes to PAS Goals as defined annually (Collections, Palm Scanning, etc.)
• Possesses a strong understanding of State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO
• Maintains a professional relationship with all clinical and non-clinical team members
• Able to articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms
• Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
