You will greet patients, answer questions, and direct them to the proper service area. Scheduling, pre-admission and discharge tasks may be required; guidance to families in waiting rooms is included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree can substitute two years of experience
• Customer Service or Data Entry – 2 years (Required)
• Healthcare experience (Required)
• Proficient keyboarding skills (Required)
• Knowledge of third party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding and medical terminology (Preferred)
• Interpersonal skills; proper grammar, spelling and punctuation

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify identity, selecting correct patient record and service
• Review schedules and physician orders to register the patient for the appropriate service
• Scan insurance cards, IDs, Living Wills, and POAs; verify demographic and insurance information in EHR
• Explain and complete regulatory and compliance documents; uphold privacy standards
• Explain and collect co-pays, deposits and outstanding balances; process transactions securely
• Greet patients and families; answer questions; ensure patients reach the correct service area on time
• May perform scheduling, pre-admission and discharge duties; provide updates to families in waiting rooms

## Patient Access Representative IIApply: On-Site: Sentara RMH Medical Center: Part time: Posted Today: JR-103002**City/State**Harrisonburg, VA**Work Shift**First (Days)**Overview:**Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital is hiring a **Patient Access Representative** - Part Time Day schedule The **Patient Access Rep II** is responsible for all aspects of the patient registration process, including: verifying the patient identity and selecting the correct patient record, reviewing schedules and physician orders to register the patient for the appropriate service, scanning important documents such as insurance cards, ID's, Living Wills, and POAs and verifying and entering the patient's demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record. Explain and complete complex regulatory and compliance documents and adhere to all applicable privacy and compliance standards. They will explain and collect co-payments, deposits and outstanding balances, and perform transactions securely. Greet patients and families, answer questions, and ensure the patients arrive to the appropriate service area at the right time.
