Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree can be considered in lieu of two years of experience.
• Customer Service OR Data Entry - 2 years (Required).
• Healthcare experience (Required).
• Proficiency in computer keyboarding (Required).
• Knowledge of third party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding and medical terminology (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and select the correct patient record.
• Review schedules and physician orders to register the patient for the appropriate service.
• Scan important documents such as insurance cards, IDs, Living Wills, and POAs.
• Verify and enter patient demographics and insurance information in the EHR.
• Explain and complete regulatory and compliance documents; ensure privacy standards.
• Explain and collect co-payments, deposits, and outstanding balances; process transactions securely.
• Greet patients and families, answer questions, and guide to service areas.
• May perform scheduling, pre-admission and discharge duties; provide updates to waiting families.
