Job summary

Sentara Health in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Part Time Patient Access Representative for the Second (Evenings) shift. You will register patients, verify demographics and insurance, and ensure accurate data entry into the electronic health record.

You will greet patients and families and help direct them to the proper service areas. The role includes collecting co-pays and deposits, handling payments securely, and supporting scheduling and discharge tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry
• Associate or bachelor's degree in lieu of two years of experience
• Proficiency in Keyboarding

Responsibilities

• Register patients by verifying identity and selecting records
• Review schedules and orders to register for the correct service
• Explain and collect co-pays, deposits, and balances per policy
• Enter demographic and insurance data into the EHR accurately
• Assist with scheduling, pre-admission, and discharge duties when needed
