Job summary

Sentara Health's Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Patient Access Representative to handle patient registration from identity verification to service registration. Qualifications

• 2 years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree may substitute two years of experience.
• Customer Service, Patient Registration, Data Entry, Front Desk, Insurance, Insurance Verification, Scheduling, Receptionist, Non-clinical.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and register for the appropriate service.
• Review schedules and physician orders for correct registration.
• Scan insurance cards, IDs, Living Wills, and POAs.
• Enter demographics and insurance information into the EHR.
• Explain and complete complex regulatory and privacy forms.
• Collect co-pays, deposits, and outstanding balances and process payments.
• Provide scheduling, pre-admission, and discharge support as needed.
• Serve as the first point of contact for patients and families in waiting areas.
