Responsibilities

• Create the initial electronic health record for the patient care team.
• Check in and register patients; verify demographics, insurance, and collect co-pays.
• Explain insurance coverage and discuss financial responsibility; refer to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and related notices.
• Schedule patient appointments and provide test preparation and arrival information.
• Greet patients and handle routine information requests; assist with transportation and interpreter services.
• Monitor and manage electronic health record work queues.
