Advocate Health is seeking a detail‑oriented registration specialist to support patient access and records accuracy in a fast‑paced environment. You will create the initial electronic health record, verify patient demographics and insurance information, and explain medical billing responsibilities with clarity and compassion.

Responsabilidades

• Creates the initial electronic health record foundational to the patient medical record used by the healthcare team.
• Checks in and registers patients; verifies demographics, guarantor and insurance; discusses co-pays and out-of-pocket costs.
• Knows insurance basics and plans Advocate Health contracts with; refers patients to Financial Advocates as needed.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and other regulations; obtains signatures as required.
• May schedule appointments and coordinate cancellations, reschedules, and recalls; provides test prep and arrival guidance.
• Provides welcoming, professional environment; answers calls, assists patients, and coordinates services such as transportation or interpreter services.
• Monitors and processes electronic health record work queues per department procedures.
