Job summary

Tanner Health is seeking a capable Patient Access Representative to support the admission process across multiple locations within the Tanner Health system. The role involves pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, and related documentation, ensuring accurate and timely patient flow.

The incumbent will handle POS collections, work output review, and collaborate with hospital staff to maintain high-quality patient service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent public relations skills and a pleasant professional demeanor when dealing with the public, including irate or abusive individuals.
• Ability to make independent decisions, display emotional maturity and use sound judgment.
• One year of previous customer service experience is preferred; knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding techniques is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred; relevant training or education may be considered as experience.
• Ability to interact and work well as a part of a team oriented environment.
• Ability to comprehend and apply a large variety of operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates a quality and efficient patient intake process through pre-registration and registration.
• Performs insurance and precertification verification, document completion, POS collections and work output review.
• Work assignments may involve multiple locations within the facility or system, including call center, patient-facing and bedside duties.
