Job summary

Tanner Health is seeking a patient access specialist to streamline the intake process, verify insurance, and complete documentation across multiple locations.

Responsibilities include pre-registration, registration, precertification verification, and POS collections while maintaining professional communication with patients and staff. Prior customer service experience and familiarity with medical terminology are preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent public relations skills and a pleasant professional demeanor when dealing with the public, hospital staff, and payers.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain good relations with coworkers, patients, families, and third party payers.
• One year of customer service experience preferred; ICD-9/CPT-4 coding knowledge preferred; medical terminology helpful.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates quality and efficient patient intake through pre-registration, registration, insurance, precertification verification, and document completion.
• Performs POS collections and work output review.
• Works across multiple locations within the facility or system, including call center, patient-facing, and bedside activities.
