Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 6 months experience in healthcare setting or 1 year customer service background.
• Complete Patient Access Academy with a passing score (85%+ within 6 months).
• CHAA, CHAM or other certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of insurance and medical terminology/billing codes (DRG, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
• Understanding of registration/healthcare processes and Epic proficiency test (85% score).

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic and financial information accurately.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits online or by payer contact.
• Educate patients on insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
• Ensure accounts are financially cleared at time of service.
• Maintain documentation in the system and comply with CMS guidelines.
