Job summary

University Medical Associates (UMA) is seeking a patient access/registration specialist to greet patients, collect demographic and insurance data, and schedule appointments, either by phone or in person. This role supports clinic efficiency and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, at least one year of customer service experience, and familiarity with hospital information systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse patient interactions.
• Familiarity with hospital information systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and update demographic and insurance information for all patients.
• Meet standard productivity metrics while performing the pre-registration and registration process.
• Complete all regulatory and compliance related forms for the visit.
• Complete verification and payment workflow, including screening for potential funding sources, and setting patient expectations for reimbursement.
