Zusammenfassung

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Patient Encounter Associate to support patient reception, scheduling and pre-clearance. You will greet patients, collect demographics and insurance data, schedule appointments, and verify coverage using EPIC EMR.

You will ensure accurate registrations, perform financial screening, obtain necessary authorizations, and assist with billing and prior authorization processes. Training is provided on-site and prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• HS/GED; Associates degree preferred.
• One week of on-site training provided by the practice.
• Experience in a medical office setting with scheduling systems is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Greet patients in person and by phone and collect/update insurance and demographic data.
• Schedule, reschedule and cancel appointments per protocols; confirm with patients.
• Handle pre-registration, financial screening and insurance eligibility checks.
• Assist with Medicare as Secondary Payer questionnaire and patient read/sign NOPP.
• Ensure co-pays are collected and receipts provided per cash-control protocols.
• Input/verify patient information into the practice management system and EPIC.
• Prepare and scan documents; support billing edits and encounter reconciliation.
