Job summary

Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Associate to obtain and enter accurate demographic and insurance information in the EHR, at various entry points of the facility. This role also handles cashiering and collects co-pays.

You will verify medical necessity, ensure EMTALA and HIPAA compliance, and provide excellent customer service while working with patients, physicians and staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of customer service experience required.
• One year of hospital registration experience preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to learn multiple software programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record accurate demographic and insurance information in the EHR.
• Explain consent forms and obtain patient signatures as needed.
• Respond to patient questions in a professional manner.
• Contribute to patient experience and assist management with issues.
• Ensure privacy and HIPAA compliance in handling PHI.
