Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative to provide first-line customer service to patients and the community. This role handles patient registration, insurance verification, and accurate medical record updates with a focus on privacy and accuracy.

Responsibilities include scheduling, explaining financial options, and assisting callers in a friendly, efficient manner while maintaining patient flow and confidentiality in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required; associate degree preferred but not required.
• Experience in patient registration is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred but not required.
• Proficient typing speed (approximately 40 WPM) and basic computer skills.

Responsabilités

• Registrations and basic insurance verification ensuring patient identity for billing.
• Explain financial options to patients and schedule appointments.
• Update medical records accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and assist callers with a friendly, professional manner.
• Support department by addressing patient flow issues and reporting to supervisor.
