Job summary

Mercy Medical Center seeks a Patient Account Registrar to interview patients or their representatives, collect demographics, and secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations. You will work with the Admitting department, PBX and reception areas, input data, and communicate with patients across age groups while maintaining medical terminology proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or representatives to obtain demographics and insurance information
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable
• Coordinate with Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas
• Input and retrieve data using computer systems
• Communicate with patients across age groups and maintain medical terminology proficiency
• Complete special projects within specified timeframes
