Job summary

OU Health is seeking a patient registration professional to interview patients, collect insurance information, verify benefits and handle co-pays and deposits. The role requires accurate charting, obtaining necessary signatures, and explaining billing policies.

You will collaborate with nursing and administrative teams to ensure smooth patient intake and financial clearance. Experience is preferred, but none required; strong communication, interpersonal, and PC skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively with patients, staff and external parties.
• Proficient PC skills and standard software applications.
• Basic math and accurate financial calculations.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain account information and verify insurance.
• Verify benefits and obtain pre-certification/authorization when needed.
• Collect patient liable amounts and receipts.
• Ensure necessary signatures for treatments and release of information.
• Explain policies regarding services, charges and payment collections.
• Assist with charting, paperwork flow and adherence to standards.
• Introduce patients to staff and address questions from patients and visitors.
• Register and admit patients as needed and route documents accordingly.
