Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an Admissions/Registration Clerk to greet patients, collect demographics and insurance data, and support financial clearance processes. The role requires accurate data entry, empathy for patients, and coordination with care teams to ensure a smooth intake experience.

You will work with electronic systems, handle ad hoc inquiries, and help resolve issues during evenings or weekends as needed. Familiarity with HIPAA and privacy policies is essential.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.
• One year of related experience, preferably in a medical, financial services, or demanding customer service setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduling, registration, and admitting functions at bedside and verify insurance data.
• Collect data for billing submission and assist with payment processing where needed.
• Identify patient financial responsibilities and post payments in the ADT system.
• Deliver a positive patient experience and maintain confidentiality and professional communication.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff and external partners to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Remain calm in stressful situations and adhere to organizational policies and training.
