Responsibilities

• Initiates the patient record by interviewing patients or a representative.
• Ensures the registration is complete, and follows up on missing information.
• Contacts insurance companies to obtain admission certification.
• Maintains awareness of emergencies and alerts appropriate staff.
• Prepares and updates patient records, and handles preregistration.
• Covers the night operator and handles calls during absences.
• Trains new registrars and supports onboarding.
