Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Patient access experience preferred (scheduling, registration and financial clearance).
• Insurance verification or billing experience preferred.
• Certified medical assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients arriving for their appointments and manages patient flow.
• Ensures all patient demographic and insurance information is complete and accurate.
• Completes registration on walk-in patients and updates changes to demographics/insurance.
• Verifies insurance benefits and collects patient out-of-pocket liability.
• Follows Financial Clearance policy when authorization is not yet obtained.
• Identifies patients needing financial assistance and refers to Financial Counselor.
• Performs visit closure, schedules follow-ups, and provides necessary documents.
• Maintains knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and payer requirements.
