Job summary

Saint Joseph East is seeking a Patient Access Clerk to support registration across access points, verify demographics and insurance, and ensure accurate data capture. You will assist with scheduling, documentation, and inquiries to promote a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities include processing registrations, guiding patients through billing steps, and addressing routine questions while maintaining privacy and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient registration across assigned access points, ensuring accurate demographic information and insurance verification.
• Accurately scan, index, and manage patient documentation in the EHR to support workflows.
• Communicate financial responsibility using established scripts and collect payments when applicable.
• Schedule, confirm, and revise patient appointments to support timely access to care.
• Identify and resolve routine discrepancies; escalate complex issues per procedures.
• Provide patient-facing support via telephone and other approved channels.
