Job summary

Family Health Center in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a Patient Registration Technician for full-time, 40 hours/week. You will greet patients, verify demographics, schedule appointments, and collect payments, while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate data entry.

The role requires basic computer skills, strong customer service, and possibly bilingual English/Spanish. Prior healthcare admin experience and familiarity with billing software are a plus.

Responsibilities

• As the Center's first point of contact the Customer Experience Technician will screen calls and route patients to the proper department.
• Collects current patient demographic information including name, address, age, emergency contacts, and responsible party for payment.
• Understands how to use telephones, switchboard, and computer systems.
• Performs filing and insurance research.
• Explains Center regulations regarding payment of accounts.
• Assists with patient flow and schedules medical appointments using approved scripting.
• Collects payments and issues receipts; tallies receipts and monies at shift end.
