Job summary

Providence Swedish Issaquah seeks an adaptable patient access/registration specialist for per-diem coverage in the Emergency Department and hospital setting. You will greet patients, gather demographics, verify insurance, explain financial options, and escort patients as needed to ensure accurate intake.

Key qualifications include an Associate's Degree and 2 years in medical admitting or related registration/financial counseling.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• 2 years' experience in a medical setting with inpatient or outpatient admitting.
• Patient Registration or financial counseling or insurance and medical terminology experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate information and support for patient flow in Swedish Medical Center and ED.
• Provide front line customer service, reception and registration.
• Interview patients and families to obtain demographic and financial data, and collect deposits.
• Explain general billing, insurance or collection questions/concerns.
• Assist patients requesting financial assistance and explore alternate coverage options.
• Serve as POS team expert to facilitate all registration functions during hospitalization.
• Coordinate coverage issues with Physician Offices and POS team; ensure timely information flow.
• Participate in quality improvement activities; assist with special projects; flexible with shifts.
