Job summary

Providence Swedish Medical Center is seeking a coordinated and customer-focused patient access professional to support patient flow in the Swedish Medical Center and Emergency Department environment. You will handle front-line registration, interview patients, collect demographic and financial data, and guide patients through billing questions and financial assistance programs.

In this role you will collaborate with physicians' offices and POS team members to ensure accurate patient information

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required or preferred.
• Two years of experience in a medical setting with inpatient or outpatient admitting.
• Experience in patient registration, financial counseling, insurance or medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate information and support for patient flow in Swedish Medical Center and ED.
• Provide front line customer service including reception and registration.
• Interview patients and families to obtain demographic and financial data and complete consents.
• Escort or direct patients, collect valuables and deposits, and address general billing questions.
• Assist patients with financial aid programs and alternate coverage sources for hospital stays.
• Serve as POS team expert to facilitate all registration functions during hospitalization.
