Job summary

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs is seeking a Patient Access Representative to perform patient registration and admitting across hospital access points, including the Emergency Department and main registration.

You will gather, verify, and update demographic and insurance information in multiple systems, identify and address discrepancies, support workflow during high-volume periods, and work with the care team, patients, and families to support a positive experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required at hire.
• Experience in healthcare registration or patient access preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Register and admit patients across assigned access points with accurate demographics and insurance verification.
• Scan, index, and manage patient documents for registration and billing workflows.
• Explain financial responsibilities to patients and collect payments when appropriate.
• Schedule and adjust appointments to support timely access to care.
• Resolve routine registration and insurance discrepancies following standard workflows.
• Provide patient support via phone and other channels and document interactions.
