Job summary

CHI St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton, Oregon is seeking a Patient Access Representative to perform patient registration and admitting across hospital access areas, including the Emergency Department and main registration.

You will gather, verify, and update demographic, insurance, and account information in multiple systems, support scheduling and documentation, and work with the care team to ensure a positive patient experience while upholding privacy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of healthcare experience in patient access is preferred.
• Knowledge of patient registration procedures and health insurance payers is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients across assigned access points with accurate demographics and insurance verification.
• Scan, index, and manage patient documents for registration, billing, and clinical workflows.
• Explain financial responsibilities using standard tools and collect payments when appropriate.
• Schedule, confirm, and adjust patient appointments to support timely care access.
• Identify and escalate routine or complex discrepancies in registration and insurance.
• Provide patient-facing support via phone and other approved channels, documenting interactions per procedures.
