St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a part-time Registration Clerk to support patient flow in the service departments. The role involves interviewing patients, gathering demographic and financial data, and verifying insurance to minimize denials.

You will assist with charges estimates for outpatient visits and help collect payments, while maintaining patient confidentiality. Responsibilities include document scanning, completing payer forms, and cooperating with staff across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven customer service experience in healthcare or service setting.
• Strong typing and data entry skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and family to collect accurate demographic and financial information.
• Verify insurance through online eligibility system to minimize denials.
• For outpatient exams, estimate charges to determine patient liability.
• Collect amounts due and ensure prompt payment where applicable.
• Scan documents and obtain signatures from patients.
• Complete forms required by governmental or commercial payers.
• Provide patient assistance following AIDET principles and protect confidentiality.
• Assist patients with wheelchair needs and transport as required.
• Cross-train to other registration areas and relocate as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of procedures and participate in department meetings.
