Job summary

Martha's Vineyard Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Representative to ensure accurate patient registration and insurance data for all visits. You will greet patients, verify demographics, and direct them to the appropriate departments with courtesy and care.

Role includes cross-training to cover switchboard and ER greeter duties, processing payments, and upholding HIPAA privacy. This on-site position supports high-quality patient experiences at MVH.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English clearly.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Demonstrated accuracy in demographic and insurance data entry.
• Ability to work with multiple departments to ensure timely registration.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors with a courteous, calm demeanor.
• Input proper demographic and insurance information for test results.
• Scan insurance cards and photo IDs; verify primary care physician data.
• Collect co-payments and process payments using Cash Tracker.
• Assist switchboard/ER greeter and mailroom as needed.
