Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our team at One Hospital Road in MVH. You will welcome patients, collect and verify demographic and insurance information, and ensure accurate registration while upholding HIPAA standards.

The role also covers the switchboard/ER greeter and mail room duties, requiring courteous service, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 0–1 year of experience in a public-facing role preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Capable of maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Strong customer service and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and verify insurance information.
• Cover switchboard, ED greeter, and mail room as needed.
• Greet patients politely and provide directions.
• Input demographic and insurance details per HIPAA guidelines.
• Handle payments and process transactions via Cash Tracker.
• Assist ED registrars and monitor waiting room.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional communications.
