Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, FL is hiring for a Part-time Patient Access Associate. You will perform Medicare compliance reviews, prepare patient financial responsibility estimates, and collect payments or set up plans.

You will coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorizations and verify insurance details to ensure smooth patient flow. You will register patients, document payer decisions, and maintain accurate demographic data while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Mature judgement with patients, physicians and insurers.
• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues ABN notices as needed.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient responsibility and collects payments.
• Coordinates with UM staff for pre-authorization and informs patients.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains pre-authorizations.
• Registers patients and ensures accurate demographic/insurance data.
• Maintains coverage of assigned work areas during shifts.
• Communicates between clinical, ancillary and access departments.
• Provides excellent customer service and documents conversations.
• Attends meetings and supports PBX coverage when needed.
• Performs cashiering tasks and cash reconciliation.
