Responsibilities

• Creates the initial electronic health record that serves as the foundation of the patient medical record.
• Checks in and registers patients; verifies demographics and insurance information; collects co-pays and patient responsibilities.
• Discusses financial obligations with patients; refers to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA and other regulations; collects signatures as required.
• May schedule patient appointments and provide clear instructions for test preparations and arrival.
• Greets patients and visitors; provides assistance and routes as needed.
• Monitors and manages electronic health record work queues per department process.
