Job summary

Tanner Health System is seeking a Patient Registration Clerk to support the intake process across locations. You will verify patient data, check insurance eligibility, and assist with cash handling and documentation to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills, with flexibility to work across PAS operations and provide high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
• One year of customer service experience preferred; knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding techniques is a plus.
• Proficient use of computer equipment and ability to read/write legibly with spelling accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Register patients following department standards to ensure efficient throughput and accurate data.
• Enter data and comments in HIS, verify demographics and financial information for revenue classification.
• Validate insurance eligibility and pre-certifications; ensure required approvals are documented.
• Assist with patient estimation and collect payments using standard scripting.
• Provide flexibility to work across PAS operational areas as needed by leadership.
• Support care team with accurate patient placement and timely documentation.
