Job summary

Tanner Health System seeks a patient access specialist to support pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, precertification, documentation and POS collections across multiple facility locations. The role covers call center, patient-facing and bedside tasks within PAS operations.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and strong communication, teamwork and computer skills; one year of customer service is preferred, with ICD-9/CPT-4 knowledge a plus.

• Flexibility to work hours and days as needed.

Responsibilities

• Registration Quality - Registers patients following department standards for throughput and patient experience.
• Registration Quality - Enter data accurately to ensure revenue classification and reimbursement; review edits to reduce denials.
• Verification Quality - Validate insurance eligibility and COB accordingly; ensure proper payer entries.
• Verification Quality - Ensure pre-certifications align with planned services and documented timelines.
• Documentation Quality - Capture signatures and regulatory documents; ensure payment forms are completed before services.
• Patient Estimation & Collection - Create patient estimates and discuss with patients; collect liabilities per policy.
• Productivity - Maximize resources and time; provide float support across PAS operations as needed.
