Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Coordinator to ensure complete and accurate patient registration and billing data, and to provide frontline support to clinical staff in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 0–2 years registration experience or 3 years of customer service, strong communication, multitasking, data accuracy, and the ability to type 40 wpm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of registration related experience or minimum 3 years in customer service.
• Experience handling patient data with accuracy and confidentiality preferred.
• Ability to verify insurance information and use payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Delivers outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ensures data integrity in the hospital information system (demographic, insurance, admissions).
• Verifies patient insurance using various methods.
• Applies knowledge of payer requirements for reimbursement.
• Assists with department coverage and holiday rotation.
• Meets the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
• Works independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
