Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access front desk registration specialist for evenings (3pm-11:30pm) and every weekend. You will greet patients, collect demographics, verify insurance, and obtain signatures while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate data entry into Meditech.

Responsibilities include bed placement coordination, coordination with scheduling and precertification, and maintaining confidentiality while delivering superior customer service across departments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; some college preferred.
• 2–4 years in a health care setting with registration/check-in experience.
• Insurance knowledge preferred; ability to handle HIPAA and regulatory data.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and collect demographic and regulatory information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect copays.
• Enter data into Meditech accurately and select correct MRN.
• Assist with bed placement and patient admissions/transfers as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow Service Excellence standards.
