Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Bath Health and Wellness Center seeks a Patient Service Specialist to deliver premier patient experiences from registration to visit completion. You will handle scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification and MyChart enrollment to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role emphasizes compassionate service, accuracy in data handling, and proactive assistance to patients, families and interpreters as needed, with daytime shifts and regional travel possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance processing or customer service OR an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer services and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive, proactive and “Patients First” experience for patients and visitors.
• Investigate, triage and resolve patient issues using the HEART model.
• Create a welcoming and professional environment, interact with patients and ensure stellar patient experiences.
• Capture and verify referrals and cancellation reasons, insurance coverage and physician data.
• Provide patient estimates for services and assist with financial counseling as needed.
• Perform patient registration, visit preparation, telephone triage, insurance verification and scheduling tasks.
• Encourage use of front-end technology and guide patients on MyChart and Appointment Pass.
