Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative who serves as the first point of contact for patients, delivering the highest standard of customer service with compassion and Mercy Service Standards.

The role facilitates patient intake at Mercy facilities, including scheduling, registration, benefits verification, pre-certification and financial clearance, with accurate data capture and effective communication with patients, physicians and insurers.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical experience and customer service preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient entrance into Mercy facilities, including scheduling and registration.
• Verify benefits and obtain pre-certification and financial clearance.
• Ensure the most accurate patient data is collected and entered.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, and insurance companies with professionalism.
