Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative who serves as the first point of contact for patients, delivering Mercy’s high standard of service and compassion. You will assist with scheduling, registration, benefit verification, and pre-certification, ensuring financial clearance when needed.

You will verify benefits and collect pre-visit payments, while maintaining accurate patient records. Strong communication and teamwork with clinical and non-clinical staff are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college helpful.
• Clerical and customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all components of the patient's entrance into Mercy facilities, including scheduling, registration, and financial clearance.
• Verify benefits, perform pre-certification and pre-visit collection as needed.
• Ensure accurate patient data is obtained and entered into the patient record with attention to detail.
