Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative who will be the first point of contact for our patients across Mercy facilities. You will coordinate scheduling, registration, benefit verification, and pre-certification to ensure a smooth arrival and financial clearance.

You will need strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and comfort with insurance terms. Our team values compassion, service standards, and teamwork as we help patients navigate care.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical experience and customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate scheduling, registration, benefit verification, and pre-certification at Mercy facilities.
• Handle financial clearance including pre-visit collection and data accuracy in the patient record.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance carriers and Medicare guidelines to support patient access.
