Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a Patient Access Advocate I to perform primary patient registration for self-pay, government and commercial accounts at the point of service. The role ensures accurate demographic data, verifies insurance, and collects due payments with a focus on clean billing.

You will work in a patient‑friendly environment, providing care‑oriented support and accurate documentation in the ADT system while guiding patients through registration and financial clearance

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 6 months healthcare or 1 year customer service experience.
• Complete Patient Access Academy with 85%+ within 6 months of start.
• CHAA/CHAM or equivalent certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of insurance and medical terminology/billing codes.
• Basic understanding of registration and healthcare processes.
• Strong keyboarding skills; data entry and documentation proficiency.
• EPIC proficiency test with 85%+ after training.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient experience using CARES, AIDET and EPE tools.
• Resolve patient concerns and de-escalate conflicts when needed.
• Educate patients on insurance benefits and liabilities.
• Ensure accounts are financially cleared at time of service through review.
• Provide wayfinding assistance to patients and visitors.
