Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of clerical experience required; hospital/medical experience preferred.
• Insurance verification experience preferred.
• Ability to type 30 WPM and interpret medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Collect and accurately input into the hospital registration system.
• Obtain signatures on all appropriate forms and issue notices to patient or family.
• Verify insurance and identify certification requirements; obtain them when necessary.
• Calculate estimated amount due and request payment using hospital scripts.
• Document pertinent events regarding account handling, including researching prior accounts.
• Demonstrate teamwork and provide exceptional patient experiences.
• Uphold patient safety and quality.
