Responsibilities

• Possess accuracy skills to ensure documents are signed and witnessed as required.
• Coordinate patient account information with department staff and clinical staff.
• Refer accounts to management when assistance is needed.
• Call insurance companies for precertifications and authorizations.
• Inventory and order supplies for the department and keep them stored properly.
• Maintain EMTALA and HIPAA compliance in daily operations.
• Interview patients to collect demographic, clinical, billing, insurance, and financial information.
• Train other Patient Access Associates in duties.
