Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Registrar to gather and enter patient demographic information into the hospital information system and verify benefits and required authorizations. The role serves as the first point of contact, delivering excellent customer service and supporting billing and scheduling tasks.

The position requires handling insurance cards, verifying data accuracy, and processing payments, while offering referrals and payment options. Epic system experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year customer service in a professional setting preferred.
• Medical office or admittance experience preferred.
• Positive demeanor with strong verbal and written communication.
• Able to handle potentially stressful situations and multiple tasks.
• Basic typing, computer and/or word processing skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain copies of patient insurance cards and demographics and enter data into computer system; verify completeness and accuracy.
• Obtain signatures on required documents for consent, medical necessity and regulatory paperwork.
• Process co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance and deposits; liaise with billing as needed.
• Identify and provide appropriate referrals and payment options for financial assistance.
• Provide office support including phones, scheduling, typing, filing, etc.
